Jaw In-Shear coupling

April 27, 2016 By Mike Santora Leave a Comment

lovejoy-in-shear-jaw-coupling-imageThe Lovejoy Jaw In Shear (JIS) ring an insert allows any existing user of the standard Lovejoy Jaw design to upgrade to an in-shear design coupling. The JIS design allows for quicker element change-out for rapid intervention and production resumption. The JIS coupling uses the same simple maintenance procedure as the standard Lovejoy Jaw product, while providing a more robust misalignment capacity. By upgrading to the JIS Urethane element, the torque rating increases to 1.5 times the rated torque capacity of the standard Buna-N Spider, which allows for less frequent element replacement.

The JIS coupling is also versatile for its use in the number of different applications and industries. Aggregate, Steel, Pulp and Paper, Energy, Food Processing, and Petrochemical are just a few examples. Pumps, conveyor systems, compressors, mixers, mills, and fans are just a fraction of the applications where the Lovejoy JIS coupling can be utilized.
