Rexnord acquires CENTA Power Transmission

February 23, 2018 By Mike Santora Leave a Comment

centa-logo-imageRexnord has successfully closed the acquisition of CENTA Power Transmission.

Established in 1970, CENTA is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of torsionally soft couplings, primarily used in the marine, industrial and wind end-markets. Strong growth in both the wind and marine industries will allow for the synergy of CENTA and Rexnord products and services, creating the potential for business in previously untapped markets.

“With the mission-critical nature of the applications in which most of CENTA’s products are used, we believe there is a substantial opportunity to bring our DiRXN™ digital productivity platform and connected products capabilities to create even more value for CENTA’s long-standing and impressive customer relationships,” said Kevin Zaba, Group Executive and President Rexnord Process & Motion Control platform.

CENTA is headquartered in Haan, Germany and employs approximately 450 employees world-wide. With its base of US operation located in Aurora, IL, CENTA has 10 subsidiaries and 30 agencies worldwide; and operates in over 60 countries. The acquisition of CENTA allows Rexnord to reach a niche market by adding torsionally soft couplings to its already extensive line of premium coupling products.

“As a global leader in premium coupling products, the addition of CENTA torsionally soft couplings will allow us to bring broader application solutions which bring increasing our value to our customers,” said Dipeshwar Singh, Director Marketing and Product Management. “CENTA brings us an opportunity to further differentiate ourselves in the market, and strengthening our relationships with customers in the marine, power generation and industrial markets.”

“This great acquisition strengthens our regional, as well as, our global market position and allows us to accelerate our growth plans. It’s a nice win for our customers, associates and shareholders” said Armin Nauroth, Managing Director, CENTA.
