Reduce space requirements for shaft-to-shaft connections

November 24, 2014 By Jennifer Calhoon 1 Comment

Offset Couplings from Zero-Max reduce space requirements for parallel offset shafts in large system applications. These specialized couplings provide machine designers with an important option for reducing overall machine size and footprint.

Compact in design, Schmidt Offset Couplings transmit constant angular velocity and torque in a wide range of parallel shaft misalignments. Handling high amounts of parallel offset up to 9 inches, they are available with torque capacities up to 459,000 in-lbs.

zero-maxSchmidt Offset Couplings can be mounted to shaft hubs or directly to existing machine flanges. They are available for shaft displacements of 0.156 inches to 17.29 inches and torque capacities from 55 to 459,000 inch-pounds. Many design configurations are available including specials.

These couplings are available with zero-maintenance bearings which eliminate lubrication and system downtime. This sealed bearing feature has no lube fittings making for a cleaner coupling setup. This design keeps out contaminants and foreign matter, enabling the couplings to be used in tight spaces and in less than ideal operating environments.

Where reduced machine size is important and precision alignment of system components is required, these Offset Couplings provide a solution. They are ideal for many applications such as printing presses, machine tools, embossing systems, paper converting equipment, pharmaceutical processing machinery and automated assembly systems, to name a few.

In addition to Schmidt Offset Couplings, Zero-Max provides a full range of motion control components. For over 60 years, the company has created innovative solutions to servo motion control problems worldwide with shaft couplings, adjustable speed drives, and keyless lock bushings. Strategic distribution points are located throughout the world backed by application specialists to provide engineered solutions for most motion control requirements.
