June Robotic Summit: Register now and we’ll see you in Boston

Our team hereby welcomes you to Boston in June for the 2019 Robotics Summit — June 5 and 6, 2019 to be exact. Focused on the design, development, manufacture, and delivery of commercial robotics, the Robotics Summit is actually co-located with the DeviceTalks event at the Seaport World Trade Center. As an attendee, expect to get sessions in tracks:

Design and development: These sessions outline the latest for robot design — including simulation software, the Robot Operating System (ROS), and software development kits.

Manufacturability, production, and distribution: These sessions detail approaches to turning robot prototypes into commercially viable systems by leveraging design and manufacturing services; identifying markets showing highest demand; and approaches to robot sales.

Technologies, tools, and platforms: This track of sessions is perhaps most important to you; it covers the core technologies of robotics — on which we editors on couplingtips.com tend to focus.

In fact, you’ll also get to connect with technology suppliers at the Summit. Case in point: One couplings supplier exhibiting at the show is GAM Enterprises (Booth #206) a manufacturer and supplier of gear reducers, servo couplings, and linear mounting kits for automated machinery. As illustrated in this story about GAM gearboxes in PARKPLUS AGV-based automated parking garages, the supplier can also work with OEMs on custom solutions for robotics.

Another technologies-track session of potential interest is one on Wednesday June 5th from 3:00 to 3:45 pm: Motion Control and Robotics Opportunities will be a roundtable led by our esteemed colleague Eugene Demaitre and featuring VP of Business Development at Motus Labs Greg Zancewicz as well as CTO of Genesis Robotics James Klassen.

These gentlemen will discuss how motion differentiates robotic systems from all other engineered products. They’ll also review advances in motion control spurring robotics innovation… for dramatic increase in robot applications. A few months later, we also interviewed Genesis Robotics CEO Mike Hilton on how exactly this offering is so different from what else is out there for actuating robotic linkages.
