Do jaw couplings help with electrical isolation?

Electrical isolation from a coupling is a common need for many motion system designs. We spoke with Bobby Watkins from Ruland Manufacturing to help us identify one of the most common types of couplings for when you need electrical isolation in your next design.

Electrical isolation: We talked about that some of the designs that will electrically isolate low voltage signals from jumping over the coupling and maybe interfering in the process by sending stray voltage across the coupling into other components. You’re going to get electrical isolation for low voltage signals that is standard in the jaw type, the oldham type and upon request, the disc type with the non-metallic center member and again, these are the examples of electrically isolating type couplings.
