What is a common coupling error in motor bracket type actuators?

Mistakes are actually quite common when selecting a coupling for a motor bracket type actuator. A small amount of planning ahead during the design phase of a motion system can make all the difference. Ruland Manufacturing VP of Sales Robert Watkins spoke with Coupling Tips.com and explained.

“Another very common error that we see is on a motor bracket type actuator. Some motor brackets have a space for the coupling to sit in and often times we’ll see that that space for the coupling in the motor bracket is too small for the coupling required. Taking the coupling you are going to use into consideration before you pick your motor bracket and before you set the distance apart on your shaft ends can save you a lot of headaches in the long run.”
