The R+W disc pack couplings can be used in atmospheres at risk of explosion with an ambient temperature of between -30 and 80°C. The explosion protection was established in line with the ISO 80079-37 standard for ignition protection type ‘h’ (constructional safety).
In accordance with Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX), the disc pack couplings are considered a device, which means they are issued with the CE marking and an EU Declaration of Conformity. With their certification for Category 2/M2, they can also be used as a Category 3/M3 device What’s more, as a result of using the coupling, there is no need to separate zones in the entire machine.
