Hydroformed Metal Bellows
Formed bellows are produced two ways; hydro-forming & mechanical forming. Both are produced by reworking tubes into convoluted bellows. Hydro-formed bellows will use a die and high pressure fluid to form the convolutions. Mechanically formed bellows will use a die and a roller to cold work the convolute shape. Formed Bellows have lower performance characteristics with thicker walls but cost less to manufacture.

Edge-Welded Metal Bellows
Manufactured using sheets of metal that are hydraulically stamped into the shape of the diaphragm and then welded together, ID to ID then OD to OD, to your specified length using plasma, laser, arc, or electron beam welding equipment to make the flexible bellows. End plates, flanges, or other required hardware are then added to each end.

Using edge-welded metal bellows instead of rubber seals and hydroformed bellows in your application provides a higher level of precision, added durability, better performance, and a reduced risk of catastrophic failure in critical applications.

Electrodeposited Metal Bellows
Manufactured using a tightly controlled, 5-step electroforming process that begins with a solid aluminum stock that is machined to an internal geometry to create a mandrel. A layer of metal is then electrodeposited to a precise thickness onto the mandrel, the ends are trimmed, and the mandrel is chemically dissolved, leaving behind the finished part.

Electroformed bellows are the optimum solution for critical applications that demand complex geometries, seamless construction, leak tightness, and miniature sizes. These precision engineered components deliver performance, durability, repeatability, and dependability that other alternatives cannot.

Servometer uses a signature Cobalt-Nickel alloy, FlexNickel, that is able to meet the temperature capability and structural rigidity of metal yet retain the flexibility and weight of plastic components. FlexNickel can be used with other surface finishes, such as copper, gold, & silver.
